Search databases

If you previously saved a database selection under a specific name, in future you can automatically refer your search to this list after logging in.
This becomes more interesting if more databases are involved.

Timeout

Maximum waiting time in seconds for the matching search results from the databases. Results arriving after this period expires are no longer taken into consideration.
Example: If a database with the timeout value 10 delivers no hits, it might help to increase this number.

Max. number of results

Here, you specify the number of results which are to be captured and displayed for each database in one step (e.g. 10 hits per page of the result list). You can capture and display the usual hits over the browse function (e.g. « 1 2 » ).

Important: It does not make sense to show all hits in one step since this would take too much time.

Important: In addition to this number, you also determine the following display quantities:

• Number of titles on each page of the result list
• Number of entries on each page in the account summary
• Number of entries on each page in the list of interest

Language

Here, you specify in which language you would like to work in OPAC. You can currently choose between German and English.

Use my list

If you previously saved a list of interest under a specific name, you can set this here as a standard default.

Search limitations

If you search several data sources at the same time, there is a risk that the limitations that are formulated under Limit search will not be processed by the databases.

To prevent this, you can define a procedure in the event of problems arising.

• The affected database is skipped as a whole
• Or: The search limitation is skipped, i.e. ignored

Default Search

• Advanced search is the standard search interface and can, unfortunately, not be changed.
